The leap from words to phrases

So I worked a bit (not much really) with Fi to get the right number of syllables for her words based on the previous speech article I shared, the combination of better hearing post tubes, the clapping method and probably the fact that she is older and has developed, have made a huge difference and her words are very easy to understand, even for strangers, provided they speak Hungarian. She only has a very mild lisp, which is a relief as Lia at this age didn't have any clear consonants.

Fi has a LOT of words, and she is starting to make little sentences, we had the first 4 word sentence yesterday: Mummy, Fi up swing. I suppose I would have got the message had she just said swing, but it was very sweet.

Once again, I have found this article extremely helpful in explaining the Leap to phrases

"Fi slee"

"Fi sleep" or the emergence of self-concept and 2 word sentences. Fascinating... I don't think there are many things more interesting than language acquisition...

Mamma

Honestly, I really don't think there is any sound sweeter to a mother's ear than a new baby's first cry and then when she says mamma for the first time... And then perhaps "I love you". There is something magical about this tiny little voice saying mamma.

And I must say I have been well offended because Fi uses a TON of words like: pasta and music and bag and slippers and says TARA and a million other things which I would not expect to be said before mummy.

And still therewas no sign of mamma until this week. And now it has arrived and it is used for me and all good things, like favorite foods and things that are extremely wanted (for 2 seconds before the next thing gets extremely wanted). Love it, love her little voice. I am smitten.
